Sorry!

Well, I was going to post a really cute blog (with pictures) from the weekend with my nephews and my sister and her husband, but we found a lovely surprise yesterday as we were putting the kids to bed. Dave noticed our bushes outside the house were dying (even more so than usual), so he watered them two days ago. We realized the reason they always appeared like they were dying is because if you try to really water them, the water leaks through the house!! To make the surprise even sweeter, it leaks into our office/storage room (which we don't go into everyday). It took 2 days for the water to fill the pad/carpet of the "office" and travel under the door enough for us to see (and smell) it.
After the initial shock (and anger) we sprang into action to try and save everything we could. Dave and I (with Caleb and Ava's "help") quickly took everything out of the office/storage room and tried to suck out all of the water from the padding. I almost got my camera to take video of it. If you even stepped on the carpet, water shot out in all directions, but I was too mad to video. Needless to say, we couldn't save it. We had to rip all of the pad out and cut a section of the carpet (I don't know how they laid carpet through 2 rooms without a seam between the rooms, but they did!!)
Luckily for us, we do have really good insurance that actually covers outside water getting into the house! We have a flood restoration company here right now, so hopefully things will be back together soon. You know, it really wouldn't have been so bad except Caleb's room flooded from a storm (and poorly placed storm drains) about 2 weeks ago!! Thankfully, it wasn't that bad (and we fixed the storm drain problem)!! Hopefully we have seen the last of flooding for a LONG time (because it's going to take a LONG time to clean this whole mess up!!)
Ok, here are some of the cute pictures anyway (let's end on a happy note) Kyler put on a magic show for us. Here is a picture of his wonderful trick. We had so much fun with him here. He was such a helpful boy! We really enjoyed having him here!

We also had Carter, McKayle, and Mitch for the weekend. It was so much fun to have family around. The babies loved playing with Carter! We put them all in the tub after dinner. They were having a great time laughing and splashing around (until Kate pooped in the tub). I have NEVER seen McKayle move so quickly! Her son was sitting next to Kate's backside, and she had him scooped up out of the water in world record time!! I couldn't stop laughing. We were sad to see them all leave!

Oh no! That is so not fun! At least you have great insurance to cover the repairs. It looks like you had a great time with everyone up there. Hopefully you guys get to come down sometime so we can all see you. Good luck with the carpet!

Water damage is the worst. What a bummer cleaning it all up. Good luck getting it all put back together.
Cute pictures of the twins!
